During the event “Spain Talks: Caring for the Future,” we witnessed very interesting speeches from both Spanish and Italian entities From the speeches it emerged that the issues faced by tourist destinations are similar everywhere: finding ways to sustainably manage tourist flows, ensuring a good quality of life for residents despite the influx of visitors. <\/p>\n\n
Sustainability as a Leading Thread<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n
A recurring theme was the use and misuse of the word “sustainability.”\nThe need for sustainable tourism management that crosses across any tourism model was discussed.\nSustainability is not a static concept or confined to watertight compartments; it must permeate all aspects of tourism horizontally. <\/p>\n\n
Awards and Recognition: Celebrating Sustainable Initiatives <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n
To end on a high note, four awards were given out aimed at highlighting and celebrating initiatives that promote responsible growth in the industry. <\/p>\n\n
