Today is World Environment Day<\/strong>, and it seems like everyone is talking about it-from your Instagram feed to your inbox and all the news outlets.<\/p>\n\n

You noticed that, didn’t you?<\/p>\n\n

For us, every day should be dedicated to the environment, not just today.<\/p>\n\n

However, there is one thing we want to focus on today more than ever: a slogan launched by the United Nations<\/strong> that struck us as effective and explanatory:<\/p>\n\n

Our Land. Our Future. We are #GenerationRestoration<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

We are the generation destined to restore ecosystems<\/strong>, or at least we should be.<\/p>\n\n

It is a great responsibility<\/strong>, don’t you think?<\/p>\n\n

We all know that land is essential for life on our planet, but crucial ecosystems such as croplands, forests and grasslands are threatened by degradation.<\/p>\n\n

Currently, more than 2 billion hectares of land are degraded, impacting 3.2 billion people, especially Indigenous peoples, rural communities, small farmers and the very poor.<\/p>\n\n

Every year, 55 million people are affected by drought, threatening global food production.<\/p>\n\n

If we do not address this problem, land degradation could reduce food productivity by 12 percent by 2040, raising prices by up to 30 percent.<\/p>\n\n

We must become the #GenerationRestoration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

We cannot turn back the clock, but we can join forces to lend a hand to nature by acting today, making smart choices and raising our voices to help restore ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n

How can we do this?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

We can grow forests, green our cities, harvest rainwater and consume soil-friendly foods.<\/p>\n\n
